Since 1984 he has been Director of Music at the Royal Grammar School, Guildford, an appointment through which he has become closely involved with much of the music-making in Guildford and its surrounding area, particularly as a choral and orchestral conductor.

Janet Lincé 1990 - 1996

Janet won a scholarship in 1990 for the choral conducting course at the Hereford Summer School, and rapidly earned a considerable reputation for her conducting. She has since directed a number of choirs and choral workshops.

Adrian Peacock 1986 - 1989

Robert Jones 1983 - 1986

Ewan Davidson 1967 - 1983, our Founder

Ewan, of Manx birth and upbringing, was a music scholar at Clifton College, Bristol and an organ scholar at Emmanuel College, Cambridge.

He founded the New Thames Singers (as we were called then) in 1967. He conducted over 120 concerts in 15 years before reluctantly passing on his baton in 1983, having successfully established a leading chamber choir for the Thames Valley area, with enthusiastic singers and a wide repertoire.
